7th Annual Gene Schultz Memorial Tournament

The tournament was created to honor Mr. Gene Schultz, the legendary baseball coach and teacher at Bishop McCort, who guided the Crushers for 26 years. Coach Schultz accumulated 225 wins and earned the respect of countless students that he worked with on a daily basis. His #24 still hangs in the hallway of the school as a tribute to one of the all- time great coaches of Catholic High.

"Coach Pfeil played for my Great-Uncle and it is evident in his tournament preparation each year how important of a role model that he was for him. Last year, Bishop McCort won its fifth tournament title in six years and Coach Pfeil recorded his 100th career victory. There's no better way to honor Coach Schultz," said Athletic Director Tim Schultz.
