CATHOLIC TRADITION OF INTER-FAITH DIALOG
Hosting International Students in our school and homes continues a Catholic tradition of interfaith dialog and cultural understanding.
St. Francis of Assisi exhorted his brothers, "Preach the Gospel at all times – and if necessary use words." The mission statement at Bishop McCort Catholic High School challenges students, staff, alumni, and parents to live the Gospel message by participating wholeheartedly in prayer, curriculum, community service, clubs, and sports.
Living as a witness to the Gospel and acting as an example for others in order to become responsible, productive adults is an integral part of the McCort mission and philosophy.
Exposing the Bishop McCort Catholic community to people of other cultures and faiths can only deepen their understanding of the world and help them to understand better how God works in their lives. Opening our school and homes to International Students also allows us to share our Catholic and American values with others who will eventually return home to provide witness to the freedoms and opportunities that the United States embodies.
An improved international program will emphasize to our students the importance of developing a new generation of leaders and innovators who can be effective in a more globalized world. The international program will establish relationships, improve school diversity, and motivate our students to expand their horizons beyond traditional career plans and educational goals.
