PROM 2019 REGISTRATION

The Bishop McCort Catholic High School Junior/Senior Prom will be held Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Green Gables in Jennerstown, PA.  Tickets will be on in the business office April 23 through the 25th.  The cost of tickets is $100 per couple or $50 for an individual ticket. Students are to arrive at the dance no later than 6 pm.  Lifetouch will begin photographing couples at 5 pm.  No students will be permitted to leave the grounds before 10:00 pm unless prior written permission has been submitted to Mr. Cotchen for approval.

All guests in attendance may be subject to an alcohol breathalyzer test.  This testing will be conducted by a school administrator or trained health care provider at specific intervals as students enter the dance.  The school will also respond and test any student or guest at the dance who appears as if he/she is under the influence.  Any student refusing to be tested will be denied access to the dance and his/her parent will be called.  If a student is deemed to be under the influence of alcohol, they will be subject to school discipline and police involvement.

The Junior/Senior Prom is a formal event.  Appropriate attire and behavior are the expectations of the evening.  Dancing is to be safe and appropriate.  No “grinding” or suggestive dancing will be permitted. Any student seen dancing inappropriately, as deemed by chaperones, will be asked to leave. Young men are reminded that dress shirts and shoes must be worn with the selected suit, as well as full length pants. No dress-shorts or capris are permitted for young men.  For young ladies, only modest-cut gowns should be selected.  Gowns that are too tight, short, or revealing, with excessive cleavage, bare midriffs, bare sides, and/or low open backs, or with only sheer fabric in these areas, are not appropriate for this event. No two-piece dresses are permitted.  Any dresses in question should be taken to Mr. Cotchen or Mrs. Largent for approval before purchasing.  Grooming and piercings for all must be in accordance with the BMCHS School Handbook.  Students who refuse to follow the dress code as outlined here and in the handbook will be denied entrance to the dance and parents will be called. Refunds will not be given to students who are denied admission due to the violation of school policy.

The purpose of these policies is to ensure and promote the safety and well-being of our students and guests, and to hopefully provide these young adults more reasons not make a poor decision.  It is not our goal to set out and catch students violating the rules, but rather to protect them and help them have a night full of happy memories with their friends.

The signature of both student and parent is required for attendance to the dance.  Thank you for your support and understanding.  We are confident together we can ensure the safety of our students during this exciting time of the school year.
