“An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest”
- Benjamin Franklin

Academic achievement is the hallmark of a Bishop McCort Catholic High School student. Bishop McCort is a college preparatory and academically competitive environment. With a 100% graduation rate and 96% of those graduates moving on to higher education this past year, we know that we achieve more academically. The graduating class of 2017’s top 25 students had an average GPA of 100.45 and are on their way to many prominent universities.

Bishop McCort currently offers 11 Advanced Placements courses. During the 2017 AP exams, there were nine Bishop McCort students recognized with an ‘AP Scholar Award’ which is offered to students who have demonstrated college level achievement on the exams. Four of these Crusher scholars were further recognized with an ‘AP Scholar of Distinction Award’ – which is granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on six or more of these exams. Bishop McCort students’ average scores in AP Biology (3.47), AP Calculus BC (4.0), AP English Literature (3.88), and AP History (3.14) were all above state and global averages in 2017.

Additionally, Bishop McCort has 23 Honors Level courses and a number of opportunities to earn College in High School credits. Classes and curriculum seek to provide the challenge, rigor, and critical thinking skills that prepare our young people for college and beyond. Going one step further, the brand new Professor In Residency program will bring college instruction to McCort. The introductory Business 101 course is a partnership with Saint Francis University where faculty from their School of Business comes to Bishop McCort to teach the course and provide a college classroom right here at 25 Osborne Street.

While STEM classes are the focus in many high schools today, Bishop McCort continues to focus on STREAM (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts, & Math) education. Numerous Performing & Fine Art electives (including Advanced Placement Art), multiple Social Science Electives, supplemental writing courses, Health Foundations, and evolving Technology classes ensure that a Bishop McCort Student is a well-rounded and healthy one. Theology, Catholicism across the curriculum, & Christian Character courses fortify that the knowledge gained by our young people is ethically, spiritually, and morally sound.

Bishop McCort is proud of the young scholars and future world changers its produces.

At Bishop McCort, we BELIEVE that our young people obtain knowledge here to go on to ACHIEVE more in college, more in their careers, and more in society.
