New Wrestling Coach at Bishop McCort

Stephen Cotchen, Assistant Principal/Athletic Director said, “Paul is an extremely upbeat person who brings a great deal of positive energy to the job and will have an excellent rapport with the young men on the wrestling team. We are excited to have him lead our program.”

Most recently, Coach Meyers was an Assistant Coach at Hollidaysburg last year and spend 6 years as an Assistant Coach at his alma mater Penn Cambria

“I have helped coach wrestlers to great success on the regional level, more importantly, the state level. During that time, I assisted in coaching 12 state qualifiers to go along with 5 state place winners. I hope to bring even more success to Bishop McCort.”

As a student-athlete at Penn Cambria High School from 2005-2007 he amassed 92 wins and qualified for the State Tournament twice. He wrestled collegiately for the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown for 3 years before transferring to South Illinois-Edwardsville for one year, where he was a national qualifier.

Paul is currently a sale representative with Food Services Solutions, Inc. Paul and his wife, Emily, reside in Cresson, Pa. They welcomed a newborn daughter, Harper, who was just born in late August.
