Stakeholder Group Meetings

Dear Friends,

Mr. Thomas Fleming has advised the Board of Trustees that he will not be seeking a renewal of his contract as Principal when his contract expires on June 30, 2019. The Board of Trustees thanks Mr. Fleming for his dedication and service to the school over the five years of his administration.

The Board has begun the process of seeking a replacement for the Principal position. We want to provide our stakeholder group (parents, alumni and friends) an opportunity to provide their input in this important process of finding a new Principal to lead Bishop McCort.

The Board of Trustees has hired Mr. John Skelley to assist us during our search for prospective Principal candidates. John is an experienced human resources advisor for both senior executive groups and line management with over 30 years of experience. He has facilitated numerous organizations through a broad range of issues pertaining to Human Resource Management, as well as team facilitation, labor negotiation, process-improvement methodologies, and business process
re-engineering.

On December 5th and 6th, we will hold public meetings for McCort parents, alumni and friends so we can hear your thoughts on what qualities and qualifications our next Principal should have. Each meeting will be held at the Bach Student Union at 25 Osborne Street.

Wednesday, December 5th: 6:00 - 7:30 pm

Thursday, December 6th: 6:00 - 7:30 pm

We believe your input is important in this process and hope you can join us for one of these discussions.

If you are unable to join us, we still welcome your input via a response to the questions below:

  • What is your vision for Catholic Education in the Johnstown Community?

  • What issues the principal should be aware of as he/she assumes leadership of Bishop McCort Catholic High School?

  • What skills, qualities, and characteristics should the new principal have to be successful at Bishop McCort Catholic High School?

  • What are positive aspects and what things need to be improved at Bishop McCort Catholic High School?

Please send your response to the above questions to Tina Mirilovich at [email protected] by December 7, 2018. We look forward to your input.

Kindest Regards,
Timothy Clark
Chairman of the Board of Trustees
