McCort Senior Earns Full Scholarship to University of Pennsylvania

Missy Murin, a Bishop McCort Catholic High School senior, has a lot to look forward to in 2020, including a four-year, ALL expenses paid scholarship to the University of Pennsylvania worth more than $310,000. She received the prestigious scholarship through the QuestBridge National College Match program. Missy is one of only 1,127 seniors out of 14,926 applicants from across the country to receive the Match Scholarship. It covers the full cost of attendance, including tuition, room and board, books and supplies, and travel expenses to and from Johnstown for four years. Winners have an average unweighted GPA of 3.93, and score between 1350-1500 on the SAT and between 30-33 on the ACT. Missy exceeded all of these benchmarks and, like nearly 80% of recipients, is the first generation in her family to attend a four-year college.

I'll be going to the University of Pennsylvania in the fall on a full ride most can only dream of an Ivy League education much less one that's great but her missing urine is one sin lifetime opportunity it was like later in the evening and I was getting ready for dance whenever I found out and I just came screaming into the ocean for my mom and it was just an amazing moment she was just so excited Christina open up the email and saw the Matched flashing on her phone she called mrs. Nagy and I could just hear mrs. Nagy in the background screaming Bridge National College match program questbridge gives exceptional students who otherwise wouldn't have the opportunity a chance to 80% of those chosen are the first in their family to attend for your call it quits definitely giving me a lot of opportunities to explore my interests and to make an impact on the world and I think questbridge was really looking for students and I have the chance to be a to get out of Johnstown and do something with her life like I haven't had the chance to so it's it's something I can't put into words just phenomenal thousand students who applied a 1100 were matched to schools like then Princeton Yale Stanford and Notre Dame between her teachers knew she had a shot Indian Tire podcast bee preparation that my teachers gave me was everything I couldn't have made it to this point or been so strong academically without support for my teachers and I'm so glad that's what I thought in her that she had the opportunity and grades the able to submit the application for the next four years everything is paid for from tuition to books to even her travel home within $300,000 in financial aid for methane it's more than a dream come true it's true that hard work does pay off especially when someone gives you a chance to prove it. I just like to thank everyone from the administration teachers and anyone who is involved with Macquarie at any level for helping me a this weather financially spiritually mentally or just academically feel really blessed to have this opportunity and I couldn't have done it without any of you
