Prayer is an important part of our lives. Prayer is a lifting up our hearts and minds to God. It is a recognition of our dependency upon God and the loving relationship God has with us, His children. Before School Prayer Services
Prayer services are conducted in the chapel on Monday mornings at 7:50 a.m. Monday prayer services are led by students. Prayer services are also conducted on Wednesday mornings at 7:50 a.m. in the chapel and are led by religion teachers. Morning prayer usually takes the form of a short prayer service reflecting the liturgical season, a holiday, a church feast, a news event, or a particular theme. Sometimes, the prayer may be part of a rosary or Stations of the Cross. Before Morning Announcements, etc.
Each day begins with a school prayer before morning announcements. Classes, meetings, assemblies and other gatherings, likewise, begin with prayer. If a special need or occasion arises, prayer services are prepared to respond to them.Men’s Morning of Prayer and Reflection and Women’s Morning of Prayer and Reflection
The first “Men’s Morning of Prayer and Reflection” was held in the spring of 2009. The following fall, the first “Women’s Morning of Prayer and Reflection” took place. Alumni, students, their fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles and friends are all invited to gather as a community of men or women to share the Eucharist, share breakfast together and listen to an inspirational message of a guest speaker. Building a community of love is the purpose of these mornings of prayer.Eucharistic Day of Adoration
A Eucharistic Day of Adoration is held on a day during the season of Lent. Throughout the day the Blessed Sacrament is exposed (placed in a monstrance on the altar) so that classes and in-dividuals may go to the chapel to spend quiet time praying, reflecting or just being in God’s presence. Spending time with Jesus in Adoration, heightens our awareness of the great mystery of God’s all-pervasive love and presence.Advent and Lenten Candle Light Services
Student members of Fellowship of Grace host a candle light prayer service in the chapel on an evening in Advent and Lent. The chapel is lit with the warm glow of many candles. Computer projected images, contemporary prayer and Christian songs create a conducive atmosphere of prayer.
