Stephen Cotchen, Assistant Principal/Athletic Director said, “We had great success with Coach Cascino last year and we are confident that Coach Leach will continue to develop great student-athletes at Bishop McCort.  We jumped at the opportunity to hire a person with the skillset and knowledge that Derek possesses.”

Derek is currently the Golf Professional at Windber Country Club. He has previously worked as an assistant professional at South Hills Country Club, Sewickley Heights Golf Club, and has also worked at Laurel Valley Golf Club and Indiana Country Club. Lastly, he spent time as a teaching instructor at Beachwood Golf Club in North Myrtle Beach.

Coach Leach Graduated from UPJ class of ‘08 with Bachelor’s Degree in Communications where he played NCAA Division II Golf. He is currently enrolled in the PGA Professional Golf Management Program and is looking to be elected full member of the PGA in March of 2019.

Derek lives with his wife, Jessica, and two sons, Kaiden and Asher, in Richland Township.
